Here is a range of sporting and nautical courses for your teenagers, organised on a residential basis. A lovely way for them to enjoy new experiences in the region.

Giggling in the dormitories, themed evenings, canoe excursions… There is no shortage of magical moments experienced on residential courses which remain engraved in our memories.

This is why we thought we would pick out a number of residential courses for you for your children to discover during the summer months. Some of the courses on the list can also be attended as daytime sessions only.

Windsurfing at the Eau d’Heure Lakes

The Adeps centre le Cierneau, in Froidchapelle, is best known for its range of water sports on the largest body of water in Belgium. Each year, over 130 courses are held there. The windsurfing courses have proven especially popular with young people.

Catamaran sailing is also very popular. Courses for this sport always fill up quickly.

Brand new this year: a week of sailing is being organised at the end of June for adults, both residential and as daytime sessions.

Various activities help youngsters learn how to stay afloat.

Rowing at the Seneffe water sports centre

On the Charleroi-Brussels Canal side, your children can learn how to row at la Marlette. The best-known Adeps Centre for this water sport, this resort has been a huge hit with under-18s: rowing courses fill up as soon as registrations open. The sport is open to the over-10s.

If your offspring prefers solo sporting endeavours, the centre also offers kayaking in “river”, “slalom” or “speed” modes, for the thrill-seekers.

Are your teens leaning more towards sailing? Sign them up for a dinghy or optimist course so that they can learn to take the helm like a pro.

For any siblings who haven’t yet found their sea legs, organisers believe that indoor climbing and trampoline courses can spark new passions.

Jeunes-sur-un-kayak
Rowing, kayaking… there are many activities on offer during the residential courses.

‘Koh Lanta’ adventure mode on the Biesme

The Beaver Farm challenges teens aged 14 to 18 to survive in a “hostile” environment: building huts in the woods, crossing the Biesme river and even agility tests and obstacle courses.

This activity centre offers a range of themed courses, each more inspiring than the last. Do your youngsters fancy themselves as an Indiana Jones? Sign them up for the “Adventure Raid” course. Aspiring to live life in the fast lane? Then the course “speed and action” is sure to be a hit with them.

Courses are also available to external participants.

During their stay, children learn to cook on a campfire.

Indian canoeing on the Virelles Lake

To be confirmed, pending developments with the health crisis.

The Virelles Aquascope organises courses to discover life outdoors alongside the lake.

With the imaginary theme of shipwrecks, participants sleep in bivouacs and take part in numerous environment-themed activities. Guided by nature lovers, they will learn how to fend for themselves; foraging for food and ways of getting around.

De deelnemers ontdekken het leven in en rond de vijver, overdag en ’s nachts.

If your children are happiest on dry land

Then have a look at the Adeps sports centre “La ferme du Château”, situated in the middle of the woods at Loverval. This residential centre can sleep over 600. Mountain biking, French boxing, motorcycling and horse-riding courses all fill up quickly.
