The companies for which the region is renowned operate in a wide range of sectors. Aeronautics and space, biotech, technology, advanced manufacturing, chemicals, health, glass and digital technologies are just some of the fields in which the Charleroi Metropolitan Area stands out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attractions of the Metropolitan Area have attracted many internationally renowned companies, which have chosen to develop their activities in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include many biotech nuggets, some of which have raised tens of millions of euros internationally, such as Novo Holdings<\/a>, Thermo Fisher Scientifics<\/a>, Univercells<\/a>, Johnson & Johnson<\/a> and Quality Assistance<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-tech manufacturing sector too boasts a number of success stories, with companies such as Sonaca<\/a>, Alstom<\/a>, Thales Alenia Space Belgium<\/a>, AGC Glass Europe<\/a> and Industeel<\/a> and Gerresheimer<\/a> all based here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should also mention Aerospacelab<\/a> which operates in the aerospace industry. In fact, this company decided to locate its satellite assembly plant in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creative and digital sectors are not to be outdone either, with Dirty Monitor<\/a>, Dreamwall\/Keywall<\/a> and Les Editions Dupuis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excellence in industrial development is an integral part of the Charleroi Metropolitan Area’s history. Needless to say the quality of the available workforce is inseparable from the investments made.
