In addition to the pioneering mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering industries, our region is also where the visual have developed, as have activities related to crafts, tourism and leisure. The Metropolitan Area has succeeded in diversifying and today offers strong ecosystems to industrial companies, entrepreneurs and investors interested in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:20px\">The region is focusing its development on <strong><u>ecosystems<\/u> <\/strong>that have been identified as priorities.\u00a0<strong> <\/strong>\u00a0Ecosystems are multi-stakeholder organisations that structure, organise and cooperate around specific sectors. By concentrating and coordinating 4 key levers &#8211; Training, Research, Incubation and Infrastructure \u2013 the overarching ecosystem helps to create fertile ground for the multiplication of projects and their realisation, and to position the Charleroi Metropolitan Area as a region of excellence for these strategic sectors of the Metropolitan Area&#8217;s socioeconomic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Heath &amp; bio<\/strong>: the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/biopark.be\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brussels South Charleroi Biopark<\/a>\u00a0hosts a unique ecosystem of scientific, clinical and commercial expertise with world-class facilities to create the perfect environment for drug research and development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Advanced manufacturing<\/strong>: this ecosystem, embodied by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/territoire.charleroi-metropole.be\/projets\/un-hub-dinnovation-a6k-e6k-a-charleroi-metropole\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A6K-E6K<\/a>, aims to consolidate and accelerate the dynamics and growth of the technological and digital sectors at an emblematic location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/food-c.charleroi-metropole.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Food.C<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0the Charleroi Metropolitan Area&#8217;s agri-food dynamic seeks to structure the region&#8217;s production, processing, distribution and consumption activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:20px\"><strong>Social innovation<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/territoire.charleroi-metropole.be\/projets\/factori-creation-dun-campus-innovation-sociale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FACTORI<\/a>\u00a0(Fabrique d\u2019Actions Collectives Territoriales\u00a0Orientation, Reconversion, Inclusion)\u00a0gathers close to 80 partners working closely in collaborative \u00a0projects to promote socio-professional integration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:20px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/territoire.charleroi-metropole.be\/projets\/district-cleantech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Cleantech<\/strong><\/a>, or how to industrialise innovation for a sustainable transition in the face of the climate emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:58% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/charleroi-metropole.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/AXES_V2-compresse.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17338 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/charleroi-metropole.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/AXES_V2-compresse.jpg 800w, https:\/\/charleroi-metropole.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/AXES_V2-compresse-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/charleroi-metropole.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/AXES_V2-compresse-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p style=\"font-size:20px\">In support of the ecosystems, a number of cross-sectional priority axes are being worked on at the level of the Metropolitan Area.
